John O’ Flynn and Simon Evans failed to reach the FINAL of the Famous Grouse Whisky sponsored Middlesex County Bowling Association Whisky Pairs competition losing by just 1 shot on an extra end! Having to be diplomatic losing County Semi-Finalists.
At one point during August it looked like The City of London Bowling Club would be dominating the London Parks Bowling Association Finals Day for 2007, appearing in all the FINALS apart from the the Jackson Shield – 3 Rink Inter Club League Championship. But in the end The City had to be happy with appearing in the Singles Final, Triples Final and the Secretaries Singles Final. John O Flynn appearing in all three London Parks Bowling Association Finals. A great display of consistency and indication of form. Sadly for John O’Flynn and The City of London Bowling Club the results did not go to plan and all three finals were narrowly lost.
It was the clubs second year affiliated to the Tottenham & District Bowling Association (T&DBA) an Association in its 101st year. The Tottenham & District Bowling Association (T&DBA) an Association of some 21 affiliated Bowling Clubs based in and around the North and North East areas of London, spanning parts of both Middlesex County Bowling Association & Essex County Bowling Association . The 2007 Tottenham & District Bowling Association (T&DBA) Finals were held at Bruce Castle Bowling Club. Bruce Castle Bowling Club was a founder member of the Tottenham & District Bowling Association back in 1906.
The City of London Bowling Club had representation in ALL the Tottenham & District BA Finals in 2006. But for 2007 the club did not disappoint in reaching the Triples final. The result went against the form book and Roy Ham, John O Flynn & Simon Evans lost in the Tottenham & District Bowling Association Triples Final by 1 shot on an extra end to a Bruce Castle Bowling Club Triple on their home green.
The North London Thursday District Bowling Association (NLTBA) an Association that presently has around 15 affiliated clubs approximately, which are based in the Central and North London areas held their Association Finals Day at Tottenham Hale Bowling Club. There was a large gathering of spectators which was encouraging to see. The City of London Bowling Club had representation in the Singles final for a fourth consecutive year. For 2007 Richard Gascoigne was the City of London’s hope in the Singles. A close game, but Richard Gascoigne came out the winner against Colin Doe (Tottenham Hale BC) on the day in front of a crowd of 50 spectators. Roy Ham, John O Flynn, Simon Evans won the North London Thursday District Bowling Association Triples title winning well against a strong Wood Green Bowling Club Triple Skipped by Darren Gosnell. The first time the North London Thursday District BA Triples title had come to the Club. The last time the North London Thursday District Bowling Association FOURS title was won by The City of London Bowling Club was in 1987 with Alan Rex, M.Steele, R.Chapman, Ted Darby bringing the honours home. Exactly twenty years on in 2007 it was won again through the efforts of Roy Ham, Steve Brewer, John O Flynn Simon Evans.
The City of London Bowling Club won the 2006 Hendon Bowling Club Open Fours title. 2007 saw a slightly revised entry of Steve Welsh, Ron Green, Geoff Gould, John O Flynn. They won again - the coveted one day 2007 Hendon Bowling Club Open Fours competition amidst stiff opposition from amongst others a quartet Skipped by former Middlesex (Middleton Cup) Team Captain John Sweeney. 2007 also saw Hendon Bowling Club celebrate its centenary year.

Simon Evans won the 2007 City of London Bowling Club Mens Singles Championship for an unprecedented fourth year in a row and his fifth Mens Club Championship title in four years over two clubs West Essex BC (Essex CBA) & City of London BC (Middlesex CBA). T.Whyte holds the record number of Mens Singles Championship wins at The City of London Bowling Club. Winning five times in 1955-59-66-67 & 69.
2007 also saw Steve Welsh win The City of London Bowling Club Mens Handicap Singles title – the oldest cup in the club for a record fourth time. Winning the title in 1995-97-99-07.
This year saw the continuance of the Club Mens Drawn Pairs Tournament, after its re-introduction in 2006. Dick Martin formerly of the disbanded Hackney Downs Bowling Club & Bedfordshire County player Cliff Francis won the title in 2006 . 2007 saw Dick Martin retain the prestigious title this time with John O Flynn. Beating Darren Henson & Mark Mansell in a keenly contested final.
Playing for the John E Brookes Memorial Shield – the 2007 Club Drawn Pairs was won by an on form David Wray and Jim Mangleshot. Finalists were Susan Pearce and Mick Mitchell.
