CITY OF LONDON BC HOSTS HISTORIC FIRST MEETING
THE City of London Bowls Club last month played host to the first meeting between Cliff Waterman, Bowls England Men’s President, and his Malaysian counterpart, Tun Dato’ Seri Ahmad Sarji bin Abdul Hamid.
The pair watched a match between Tottenham Hale BC and Noel Park BC whilst discussing developments in the sport across the world.
Simon Evans from the City of London BC explained: “Tun Dato’ Seri Ahmad Sarji was in London for a few days and said he would like to meet with the Men’s President. Bowls England contacted us and we were only too happy to be able to help by hosting this historic meeting.
“Afterwards Tun Dato’ Seri Ahmad Sarji presented club officials with some Bowls Asia merchandise and all those present enjoyed the day.
“He added that he loved the location and the name of the bowling club, and expressed his wish that next time he visits he would like to bring along some of their top players for a game.”
